Canadian Art Inspiration Student Challenge

by

Ignite your students’ passion for Canada’s art and artists! Submissions are now open for the Canadian Art Inspiration Student Challenge, the Art Canada Institute’s annual celebration of young artistic talent from across the country. Each year, students in Grades 7 through 12 are invited to create original artworks in any medium inspired by the nation’s leading artists. Cash prizes of $500 for first place winners and $250 for honourable mentions will be awarded in different age categories. In June of 2024, all finalists will have their artwork showcased in an online exhibition. This year’s winning works will be selected by three artists: Kent Monkman, Karen Tam, and Edward Burtynsky. Integrate the Student Challenge into your classroom by exploring the ten inspiring art projects published in a creativity booklet designed for educators (https://www.aci-iac.ca/wp-content/ uploads/2023/09/aci-education-challenge-inspiration-booklet-en-2023.pdf).

Visit the Art Canada Institute’s website (https://www.aci-iac.ca/education/art-challenge/) to learn more, and subscribe to a monthly newsletter for additional educational resources and announcements related to the Student Challenge.

Submissions will be accepted until March 29, 2024.
