Open P-TECH is a free online learning portal from IBM that was built on the foundations of their P-TECH (Pathways to Technology, Early College High School) program first launched in 2011. Open P-TECH offers free digital learning on the tech skills of tomorrow. The newly released Open P-TECH is a completely free digital education experience platform launched by IBM to equip young people and educators with foundational knowledge about topics like cybersecurity, AI and cloud computing, plus professional skills like professional presentation skills.
After students complete coursework, they can earn industry-recognized “digital badges” that can be added to their resumes, demonstrating their knowledge and skills as they apply for employment or higher education. Additionally, teachers can also stay connected with students outside the classroom with access to activities and lesson plans to extend the learning that students complete on the platform. The free IBM program also comes with a student progress dashboard to monitor progress and assign new content to students.
This is particularly relevant to high school students as they start building out their resume to apply for jobs and complete university/college applications.
