Six Global Teacher Prize finalists from around the world, including Canada’s Armand Doucet, have joined forces to write a new book which tackles the greatest threat their students will face when they leave school—how to survive a world transformed by the “Fourth Industrial Revolution.” Teaching in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Standing at the Precipice brings the world’s best teachers together to solve the most crucial challenge to education of the coming decades.
Doucet, is a World Issues, Modern History and Social Studies teacher at Riverview High School in Riverview, New Brunswick.In his chapter of the book, “Teach ME: The Learner Profile,” he argues that a whole new way of teaching with a focus on personalized learning is needed, and offers a practical guide to the core skills needed for the classroom of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Recently he founded Life Lesson Learning, which is working to give competencies and character development a place in the classroom through his Passion Projects initiative. Armand is a recipient of the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching 2017, received the Canadian Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence 2015, is a Meritorious Service Medal Recipient Governor General of Canada, is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Teach SDGs ambassador.
