The Learning Partnership’s Coding Quest Sampler is an abridged version of their national Coding Quest program. Coding Quest Sampler introduces teachers and students (Grades 4 – 8) to simple coding activities, and gives students the tools to build their own computer game story. It is a project-based learning resource that is ideal to be delivered remotely at no cost to teachers or schools. According to Valia Reinsalu, Bowmore Road Junior and Senior Public School teacher and former Toronto District School Board digital learning lead, who was an early reviewer of the program,“Coding Quest Sampler offers a scaffolded introduction to coding ideal as an introduction for an entire class or as an extension for independent learners. Even for those teachers unfamiliar with coding, the program is structured, clear, organized, and easy to teach. Each lesson plan has a slide show and links, practical tutorials, and a rubric to guide the delivery of global competencies.”
