Winged Canvas, an online art school based in Markham, ON, has launched a web portal for teachers to facilitate art lessons in their physical or virtual classrooms. The asynchronous courses, which are designed to the Ontario Arts Curriculum standards but can be used anywhere in the world, are supplemented with teaching techniques and design thinking to nurture student success, confidence, and self-expression. Winged Canvas launched in 2014; now an established arts school, they are providing educators with a growing library of video lessons and teaching resources. Bite-sized lessons are taught step-by-step by professional art educators and award-winning artists. Teachers are invited to test out the first module on all five courses (suitable for grades 1 to 12) for free. The membership is available at courses.wingedcanvas.com with the first 50 Founding Members gaining access for CAD $18.00 per month.
