Ringed Seal is the latest addition to the Animals Illustrated series from Inhabit Media. This non-fiction book is packed with interesting facts about the range, appearance, diet, babies, predators, and intelligence of these iconic Arctic creatures. As the ringed seal is the most common seal in Nunavut, the Inuit have a long tradition of hunting it for food, clothing, and other household items. A section at the back of the book details many traditional uses.

Classroom Connections: Very clear and detailed illustrations add meaning to the text, and headings, labelled diagrams, and captions help make this book accessible to young readers. The content supports social studies and science curricula and literacy goals (questioning and making connections).
