My favourite character was Lyra because she has a personality like mine—mischievious, stubborn, and adventurous. This story takes place in Victoria, my home town. I liked this book because the sights of Victoria turn into creepy, crawly monsters. Some of the monsters were kind. I was happy to see the different sights of Victoria (e.g., the Breakwater and Gyro Beach). My favourite part of the book was when Enid and Lyra go into the Octopus at Gyro Beach. It was their secret hideout.

This book would be good for anyone who loves mysteries, monsters, and graphic novels. I saw the author on TV. He is also the illustrator. After seeing him I thought of the book in a different way. I realized that the book was about his two daughters, Enid and Lyra, and he told how he got the ideas to write the book.
