My favourite character in this story is Tug, who is a skyger (because he can change colour depending on his moods). A skyger is like a large tiger but he is blue and has wings. Tug only has stubby wings so he is unable to fly. I liked him because he was clumsy but he was funny.
The story takes place in the magical world called Zoone. You get there through magical doors in the basement of Ollie’s apartment building. Ollie finds the door and goes through it. When he gets to Zoone the door to his world collapses and he can’t go back to his home. He has to find a way to get back. On his way back he meets a lot of creatures in different shapes and sizes, for example: a lizard woman, a green blob, and people with really long, crazy eyebrows. He finds his way back to earth (Eridia as it is called in Zoone). He feels like he doesn’t belong in Eridia and ends up going back to Zoone.
The story reminds me of a book called The World of Elsewhere because in that book they travel to a world called Elsewhere through paintings. Something I liked about this book is how many different and unique characters there were and how some of them were very surreal.
