Enter to win Canada’s Coolest School Trip to Parks Canada places in Manitoba!
To be eligible to win any prizes, all the students in your class must participate in a stewardship activity for a minimum of 4 hours. This activity must contribute to the protection of the local environment or presentation of local history or culture. Together, the class must create a photo essay about their experience. The photo essay must include five (5) photos with a maximum of 150 characters per photo.
– Photo 1 must represent the preparation or planning for the activity
– Photos 2, 3 and 4 must represent the activity itself
– Photo 5 must show how the activity connects to a particular Parks Canada place or Parks Canada’s mandate.
You must submit your photo essay through your online account on Canada’s Coolest School Trip website. Each grade 7, 8 and 9 / secondary 1, 2 and 3 class may submit only one photo essay. It must be no longer than five pictures with 150 characters – anything longer than that will not be judged. A class can win only one prize.

An all-expenses-paid trip to Manitoba from June 3-7, 2019, for a class of up to twenty-seven (27) students and one (1) adult chaperone per ten (10) students.
The trip includes a four (4) night, five (5) day trip to Parks Canada places in Manitoba where students will discover Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site, where costumed interpreters will explain how a historic agreement with First Nations was made at this incredible stone fort, they will visit Riel House National Historic Site and hear tales of Louis Riel’s life and his struggle to defend Métis rights in Canada, they will go to the Forks National Historic Site, “the heart of the continent”, where people have been gathering for 6,000 years! The grand-prize winners will also experience the breathtaking natural beauty and pristine wilderness of Riding Mountain National Park!
Round-trip regular class flights to and from the airport served by Air Canada nearest the winning class, for travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba, are included and supported by Air Canada.
Three (3) runner-up winners will be selected from the short-listed 15 photo essays, including the top ten (10) photo essays as determined by public voting and the five (5) staff picks photo essays. Each video’s score will be determined by a panel of judges.
Each winning class of a runner-up prize will receive a field trip to a local Parks Canada place, including transportation and programming, up to a maximum value of $1000.
Six (6) honourable mentions will be awarded a prize package from the Contest Group Entities. Winners will be selected by region. If a region is not represented within the short-listed fifteen (15) photo essays, winners will be selected at the discretion of the judges and may be chosen from all entries received or from any region.
