This young adult novel provides sensitive insight into the internal motivation of a conscientious objector during Work War I, and the social consequences he must face as a result of his decision to not go to war. It also depicts typical wartime life for Canadians at home as they wait for news of their loved ones from the front. Very well written and highly recommended for junior and senior secondary students.
